Practice Areas:
Ms. Stevens represents utility clients in the electric, natural gas, water and wastewater industries before state and federal regulatory agencies, including the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, and provides advice regarding regulatory compliance and the formation and restructuring of public and private utility entities. She also represents utility consumer clients in negotiating contracts with utility providers for facilities, resolving disputes with such providers, and participating in regulatory proceedings, including rate making cases. Before joining the firm, Ms. Stevens served as commission counsel to the New Mexico Public Utility Commission (predecessor of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission) from 1995 to 1998 and as staff counsel from 1987 to 1995.
Ms. Stevens also represents a wide variety of clients, including utility entities, insurers and businesses, in appeals from civil judgments and regulatory orders. She has experience in state and federal court litigating cases involving commercial disputes and personal injury claims.
